The refrigerator opens with a voice command, and YouTube can be watched on its screen
Samsung has launched its new Bespoke AI Family Hub Refrigerator in South Korea. The appliance is available in two versions: a Kitchen Fit Max model with a 9-inch display and a Kitchen Fit model featuring a 32-inch screen.
The 9-inch display version is priced at 4.64 million won (around $3,100), while the model with the 32-inch screen costs 5.84 million won (approximately $3,900). Both variants come in white.
Samsung Bespoke AI Family Hub Refrigerator: Vision AI and food management
One of the refrigerator’s key features is its inward-facing Vision AI camera. It can monitor which foods the user puts in or removes, identifying up to 37 types of fresh food and up to 50 categories of packaged products from their labels and barcodes. Using this information, the system can alert the user when items are running low or nearing their expiry date. Google Gemini is responsible for the visual recognition model.
The refrigerator also works with the Samsung Food service. Its AI Food Manager system can suggest recipes based on the ingredients available and the user’s dietary preferences. All information is synchronised with the Samsung Food app on Galaxy smartphones, tablets, televisions and monitors. The FoodNote feature examines food usage and creates a weekly nutrition report.
The updated Bixby voice assistant has improved natural-language understanding. Users can issue more complex commands, such as: “I put ice cream in the refrigerator - freeze it quickly” or “Choose a dish from the available ingredients”.
Hybrid Cooling, Auto Door and entertainment features
The new Bespoke AI Family Hub also includes Hybrid Cooling. Alongside conventional cooling, it uses a Peltier element, which Samsung says delivers up to 20% faster cooling. The appliance is fitted with an inverter compressor.
Another feature is Auto Door: the refrigerator doors can be opened with a light touch or by voice command. Its touchscreen also serves as a hub for entertainment and smart-home control. Users can listen to Spotify and YouTube Music, watch Samsung TV Plus and YouTube, and monitor smart-home devices through SmartThings Map View.
