Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 450g fresh strawberries, diced
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 (225g) pack cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (432g) pack white cake mix
  • 225g butter, melted
  • 1 (595g) tin strawberry pie filling

Method for strawberry dump cake

  1. Heat the oven to 175°C. Coat a 23 x 33cm baking dish with non-stick cooking spray, then set it aside.
  2. Toss the strawberries with the sugar and leave them for around 10 minutes, until they begin to release their juices.
  3. Meanwhile, beat the cream cheese in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add the strawberries and stir until thoroughly combined.
  4. In another bowl, mix the cake mix with the melted butter until it forms a crumbly mixture.
  5. Tip the pie filling into the greased baking dish, then spoon the strawberry and cream cheese mixture over it. Scatter the crumble evenly over the top.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Take the dish out and leave it to cool on a wire rack.
